 ..." So the psuedo-roadmap we have now is:

Basebuilding:
Basebuilding/the new recipe system needs to be rolled out and bugchecked. Once the first iteration of basebuilding has been added and is useable/stable we'll circle back to the item system - No ETA but it's pretty close - the recipe system is about done and we'll roll that out in a patch first in the coming days.

Keybindings:
This is a very requested feature surprisingly. We have a developer working on this now. No ETA

Item system:
This will take some time as well but it will mean we'll be able to have more items in the world + lots of other things
The inventory "player too close" issue will be solved
things like stacking items will be added
Player storage in bases
and lots of little network improvements related to syncing items to players.

and as always we'll be working on various bug fixes and improvements to existing game systems as well as working hard on resolving the network errors and the servers getting into the stuck state and not allowing new players to join."...
